Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio/Video Technician to join our technical team. The Audio/Video Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio and video equipment for various events, productions, and projects. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality audio and visual experiences.
Job Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Set up, configure, and operate audio and video equipment for live events, conferences,
meetings, and productions.
• Perform equipment checks, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure seamless
operation.
• Ensure optimal sound quality by adjusting audio levels, equalization, and sound mixing.
• Manage video playback, switching, and streaming for presentations and broadcasts.
• Coordinate camera operations and angles to capture desired shots.
• Provide technical support to presenters, performers, and event organizers during
rehearsals and live events.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio and video equipment in real-
time.
• Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on audio and video equipment to
ensure functionality and longevity.
• Keep an inventory of equipment, track usage, and identify replacement needs.
• Work closely with production teams, event organizers, and other technicians to ensure
smooth execution of events.
• Communicate effectively to address technical requirements, timelines, and any changes
during the setup and operation.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure environment for equipment
setup and operation.
• Ensure compliance with copyright and licensing regulations when handling audio and
video content.
• Stay up to date with the latest audio and video technologies, trends, and industry best
practices.
• Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and improvements to enhance audio
and video quality.
Experience and Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Audio/Video Production, Broadcasting, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Audio/Video Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in operating audio and video equipment, including mixers, microphones,
cameras, projectors, and video switchers.
• Knowledge of audio and video signal flow, routing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with audio and video editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Premiere) is a
plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during live events.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
