The LB Capital Blueprint: Professionalizing a Legacy for Acquisition

When LB Capital partnered with Cherry Roofing and Siding in 2023, Josh Cherry had built something real: loyal customers, a crew that knew the work, and a reputation earned job by job.

What he had was genuinely good. What he didn’t have was the infrastructure to make it institutional.

The systems were built for a local shop. They weren’t designed to attract a national buyer, survive a grueling due diligence process, or operate without Josh at the center of every decision. Cash was tight, growth was demanding, and the business had not yet become a true wealth-building asset. It was a contractor shop, not a scalable platform.

That is the gap we close.

The Work: Building the Machine

Cherry Roofing and Siding was already a strong regional player with a reputation for quality. However, the company faced the common “complexity wall” that prevents successful local shops from becoming institutional platforms. When LB Capital stepped in, the business needed a specific set of upgrades to attract a national buyer.

1. Modernizing the Front Office

We moved the operation to ServiceTitan for total visibility and deployed Hatch AI to automate speed-to-lead. Every inbound inquiry was handled in under 60 seconds. We didn’t need to spend more on ads; we just stopped wasting the leads we already had.

2. Brand Dominance

We turned the fleet into the most recognized trucks in South Jersey. This created “Inbound Authority”—customers called because they knew the brand, not because we were the cheapest. This protected our margins and built a moat around the business.

3. Institutional Readiness

Cherry Roofing and Siding was acquired by Victors Home Solutions, a rapidly expanding national platform, on terms that reflected the systems, reporting, and operational discipline built during the partnership. Together, we standardized workflows, cleaned the books to GAAP standards, and positioned the company as a plug-and-play acquisition target. When Victors looked to expand into the Northeast, Cherry stood out as one of the most attractive opportunities in the market.

The Result

Cherry Roofing was acquired by a rapidly expanding national platform on terms that reflected the systems we built, not just the revenue generated. Millions more followed in escrow after the initial $6M+ closing.

"Josh did his job—he was committed and all in. This isn't theory. This is what happens when you build a foundation that sophisticated buyers actually want."
